Making a Difference

We intend to make a difference. While there have been lots of community discussions, there haven't been enough continuous efforts to study and resolve basic community issues.

We have regular meetings and our members participate in study committees to research specific topics and issue reports. We make sure members of those committees have no conflicts of interest, though we take care to hear from those who do. We're committed to understanding issues from every side.

Sometimes that's what it's like in Eugene. Each person seems to be thinking alone or talking with a small group of people. What would it be like if all those individuals and small groups got together and talked about our community and its future?

That's what City Club of Eugene is all about. Our mission statement is simple:

Building Community Vision Through Open Inquiry

We have regular meetings and our members participate in study committees to research specific topics and issue reports. That's the only way we can really come to a consensus that will shape the future of our community. Competing viewpoints vying for the decision of the moment just won't do it.
