TURTLE AWARDS:
City Club's Annual Meeting

  • The Turtle Awards:, Who's Sticking Their Neck Out?

In the tradition of creative problem-solving, constructive action, cooperative relationships, and fostering diverse perspectives, we'll meet the members of our community who have "stuck their neck out." Come and meet them as well as past Turtles who have been invited to attend.

The Turtle has been presented since 1991 and last year's Turtles, Susan Ban and Cynthia Carlson, were honored for their leadership and commitment. Past recipients include Terry McDonald, Bill Morrisette, Jean Tate, Mike Gleason, Jon and Molly Stafford, Ron Chase, Gerry Gaydos, Emily Schue, Ken Tollenaar, Mary O'Brien, John Brown, and John VanLandingham.

This will also be the City Club's annual meeting to elect our board members and officers and welcome our new President, Pat Skipper. We'll thank outgoing President Rick Dancer and board members Julie Daniel and Past President Tom Lininger, relive the high points of our year, and look to the City Club's future.

This year's nominations for the Board of Directors and Officers will be voted on at the Annual Meeting. According to the City Club's bylaws, additional nominations may be taken from the floor at that meeting. The nominations are:

  • President Elect: Carmen Urbina
  • Board Members: Jorge Navarro, Steve Smith, Jonathan Stafford, and Surrendra Subramani.

Special thanks to the John VanLandingham, chair of the Turtle Award Committee which is made of all past Turtle recipients.
