Mike Eyster tells us how students' needs, desires and behaviors have changed over time. He will also report on a recently released study on long range housing needs on campus. Come find out how drastically things have changed since many of us lived in campus dorms and ate dorm food.
What do current University of Oregon college students want in housing, food service and life style? How about: single rooms, steak and lobster, 24-hour food service, a refrigerator and microwave in each room, private baths, complete freedom and complete privacy, total security, compatible roommates, low cost, quiet at all times, regular planned and free parties, academic counseling and assistance on site, and smoke-free environments. These are just a few of the student demands and expectations faced by Mike Eyster, director of University of Oregon Housing since 1991.
How does he respond, and how does it all relate to a good education ... and what lies ahead? Mike will tell us. He will also report on a recently completed study for long-range University housing. Where, when, how much, and maybe why ... everyone always has an opinion on this subject; come share yours.
